Class Descriptions


CrossFit

These are our regular classes and are open to all those who have completed our Foundations program. The coach will guide the class through a warm-up, a strength or skill section, a conditioning section, and finish up with a cool down/stretching. Fifteen people maximum per class so we require all members to book online to guarantee they have a spot in class. The WODs are scaled and modified to each member’s level and performed at the highest intensity that the individual can sustain with good form and proper technique.

Foundations

This program is a series of 12 classes that teach you how to safely perform the basic movements used in CrossFit. Our Foundations program is a pre-requisite to getting a membership at The Maker's Body CrossFit. There are a limited number of people allowed per foundations class so please book a spot online. Boot Camp

It's our original strength and conditioning program and is similar to our CrossFit program however with less emphasis on barbells, minimal to no max effort lifts, etc. The classes will incorporate the TRX, sledgehammers, sandbags, stability balls, battling ropes, tires, etc. and then just like our CrossFit classes, you will run, use your bodyweight, jump boxes, kettlebells, dumbbells, medicine balls, and rowing machines. Each class will consist of a warm up, a conditioning workout, and a cool down.
 

Olympic Lifting

The Olympic Lifting Class focuses on fine-tuning your technique and skill in performing Olympic lifts, i.e. the Clean and Jerk and the Snatch. This is a specialty class, which is open to MBCF members who have one of the unlimited memberships. Fifteen people maximum per class so we require all members to book online to guarantee they have a spot in class.

Open Gym

This is your time to come to the box and work on whatever you want; you can do a WOD of your choice, some strength training, or work on technique. This is a specialty class, which is open to MBCF members who have one of the unlimited memberships. There is a limit to the number of people allowed however this is not a class, so you can come and go at any point in the time allotted for Open Gym. There will be limited coaching available as you will be essentially working on your own.

Mobility

The coach will lead the class through movements and stretches that address and prevent mobility and performance problems, reducing the risk of injury and/or shortening your recovery time if you have injuries. This is a specialty class, which is open to MBCF members who have one of the unlimited memberships. Fifteen people maximum per class so we require all members to book online to guarantee they have a spot in class.

Throwdown

Once a month at MBCF we put together a fun workout that's open to all members and guests for free. It's very similar to our CrossFit classes except their less specific coaching so we ask that you be somewhat proficient in the 9 Foundational CrossFit movements and the Olympic Lifts. Twenty people maximum per class so we require all members and guests to book online to guarantee they have a spot in class.
