This program is designed for you to learn how to safely do all CrossFit movements so you can safely attend regular CrossFit classes or Boot Camp classes at The Maker’s Body.
These Foundations Classes run at the class schedule listed on the schedules tab. There is a total of 12 Foundations Classes that you’ll need to complete (you can do them over four weeks in any order) before you can book into the regular CrossFit classes.
These classes are offered on a rotating basis every four weeks so you can join anytime or repeat a class if you want.

Attendance to ALL 12 Foundations Classes is required for access to CrossFit. Attendance to ANY 6 Foundations Classes is required for access to Boot Camp classes because our Boot Camp classes incorporate a number of CrossFit movements and exercises you’ll need to be familiar with.
During the Foundations course we are going to get to know some important things about you.
We will do some assessments in order to understand you, your personal goals, current health, and go over a nutrition plan to help you reach your goals. Once we have some understanding of your needs, we can help you achieve your goals.
This assessment will be booked separately outside of the 12 Foundations classes. You will also receive a follow-up assessment every 4 weeks to re-assess yoru progress and make any necessary modifications to ensure you meet your goals.
Through the classes you will experience first hand what CrossFit is all about and why it is such an effective and fun program.
We’ll introduce, refine technique and discuss range of motion requirements for the following movements:
- Squats: air squat, front squat, overhead squat, back squat
- Presses: shoulder press, push press, push jerk
- Power movements: deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull, medicine ball clean
- Olympic movements: clean and jerk, snatch
- Gymnastics: pull-up, push-up, burpees, bar dips, muscle-ups, handstands, L-sits, knees-to-elbow, toes-to-bar, rope climb, etc.
- Other common movements: thrusters, wall ball, kettlebell swings, box jumps.
Please understand all CrossFit movements are scalable – meaning we can adjust the movement, number of repetitions, and weight to meet with your current capabilities and skills in the exercises.
In every Foundations class there will also be a fun workout at the end so you can put into practice what you learned during that particular class as well as experience what a CrossFit workout is like.
We’ll also introduce you to our way of eating and nutrition system – Isagenix Nutrition Systems and Paleo concepts. Nutrition is often overlooked when training, but to us it is the foundation of fitness. Though you don’t need to follow a nutritional program to be a part of The Maker’s Body CrossFit, we want you to look and feel good and get maximum benefit from your commitment and hard work, so we want to help you create a customized plan which works best for you and your lifestyle.

Once you have completed Foundations, our regular kick-butt classes become available and you. You’ll be able to book into any CrossFit classes or Boot Camp you want to attend.
The Foundations Program is mandatory in order to move on to the group classes. If the schedule time and dates do not work for you, we offer Private Foundations Programs where you can book your foundations classes privately be if a few you may have missed to the entire 12 – whenever works for you.
