What is CrossFit?
INFINITELY SCALABLE | RELATIVE INTENSITY | COMMUNITY
Our CrossFit program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.
We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
“The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.” Greg Glassman, Founder and CEO of CrossFit
Thousands of athletes worldwide have followed CrossFit workouts posted daily on the CrossFit.com site and distinguished themselves in combat, the streets, the ring, stadiums, gyms and homes.

CrossFit is defined as Constantly Varied (always changing), Functional Movements (things you do in everyday life), performed at High Intensity (is relative to your physical and psychological tolerance and is THE key ingredient to fitness)
Constantly Varied: A mixture of different movements, testing the body in different ways, different energy systems, and different physical skills. This keeps the body in a state of constantly having to adapt and therefore prevents plateaus.
For true fitness routine is the enemy. The more consistent your routine is, the less prepared you will be for the unexpected. What will life expect of you tomorrow? No one knows. Your training should reflect that. Since life is always different so should your training. This sort of fitness gets you ready for anything in the real world.
Functional Movements: Prepare you for life. Moving your body from point A to point B such as squatting, running, jumping, throwing, pulling, picking things up, etc. They weren’t invented by anyone and they are found everywhere. This is what our bodies are meant to do. We incorporate these movements because they are so much more effective in eliciting results and for life outside the gym.
High Intensity: Intensity is the key. Intensity is measured by how fast you get real work done. We need to work hard at anything we do in life to see results. The right community of great coaches and members creates the right environment to train hard to elicit the results you want.
Infinitely Scalable: CrossFit is designed to be suitable for Olympic athletes, your grandparents, and everyone in between. All of our exercises and workouts can be modified or “scaled” to the appropriate level for each participant. Everyone does the same type of work, but the load and level of intensity are scaled to every individual’s ability.
Measureable: One of the most important aspects of any effective fitness program is measuring progress. If we’re not seeing real results than we’re wasting our time. Everything in CrossFit is goal-oriented and measureable. Our members set and accomplish their goals; we are always competing against ourselves. By making improvements in the gym everyday, it makes it easier to maintain progress and stick to the program.
If you commit to our training, we’re confident that you will see results faster than any other strength and conditioning program out there.
Community-Driven: A big reason that CrossFit has seen success on such a large scale is because of a community-driven philosophy. The atmosphere during a CrossFit workout is one of competition, fun, and camaraderie.
There’s something about knowing that the person right next to you is going through the same thing makes our tough workouts a bit easier to withstand. By suffering through these workouts together it somehow brings us closer together. The natural camaraderie, competition, and fun of sport or game also help to create an intensity that cannot be matched by other means.
The community element that CrossFit creates builds a level of accountability. Once you get to know people, it motivates you to stay committed, because there are more people expecting you to show up.
